26 December. Boxing day

26 December. Boxing day

IMG_4636_HDRMy beautiful Byron,

Here I am in the desert at exactly the same place where I spoke to you on Xmas day in 2015. When Adler, Amlot and O’Leary still used to let us talk on Skype. I am back here for the Xmas lunch visit with the two old ladies we look after at Xmas.IMG_316blacksan5_HDR

Today is rainy and freezing cold. You can’t believe how cold and rainy On the way to breakfast we saw the same Black swan that we showed you on Skype four years ago. He is still here and looking good. Black Swan with a red beak.

We stay in a Hotel in the desert that has a golf course and tennis courts, so when the rain stopped, we managed to play some golf.

Its not my favorite game, but I can play. When I was your age, I lived in Bryanston, and my next door neighbor was a very famous golf player called Gary Player. So that gave me some awareness of the game. He was a very friendly and used to give me a ride to the Country club sometimes.
Then I got to play with Graham and Craig De Villiers at the Bryanston Country club, where I learned the basics. Like driving and putting. And chipping.
Because Golf is so popular here in California, I started playing again after 39 years. I am lucky that I have a good eye for the ball and I can play reasonably well even though I didn’t plaIMG_4638andrgolfy for so long.
Chris (Ghelakis) is a very good golfer, so when I am in South Africa, I play with him. He lives right on a golf course.

At our hotel here, I played 9 holes with Phyllis. The rain cleared up, and the sun came out. You can see snow on the mountains all around, and on the golf course we are in T Shirts, hot as can be. Strange weather.

Hope you had a nice lunch. And that you got Mac laptop for Xmas. If not, I would like to send you one. Just let me know. Or, let Chris know.
He is trying to arrange it with Adler seeing as it is not possible for her to speak directly to me, which to be fair, is a good thing for you. IMG_4637
I know it is not easy for a child in the middle of two parents who think so little of each other that one calls the other a larcenous-lying-thief. Guilty of criminality along with her accomplices Amlot and switch-judge O’Leary.
But you are not alone in being the child of parents driven to mutual disgust for each other by adversarial family court. (That’s what family court is for – to make parents hate each other and mess with the child’s future so that family law members can get paid lots of money creating animosity.)  I know you can cope with keeping each of your parents in a separate box that has nothing to do with you. No matter what each says about the other. Both parents love you in their own way. Facts matter and that’s just the way it is. You always have the right to be with both parents and it is simply wrong that Adler has placed monetary value above your right to be with your father. Especially considering the parental agreement she entered into. I alaays raise a glass to you at every occasion that you miss being with me because of Amlot, Adler and O’Leary.

Oh well. Here’s to next summer holidays. And you getting a Macbook so we can speak to each other without Adler, Amlot and O’Leary being in control of what we say to each other. You will be 11 by then.  Soon you can demand what you want. Knowing I will always be here for you.

Miss you,
Love you,
Daddy
