Visitation disputes

185px-Scott_evans_dekraai_booking_photoTomorrow, October 12th, 2015 marks 4 years since Scott Dekraai, 41, embittered from a long battle with ex wife Michelle Fournier, 48, over his 8 year old son Dominic, put on a bullet proof vest and at 1.15 on October 12th, 2011, approached her in the Salon Meritage where she worked as a hairstylist in Seal Beach with the words “You wanted this”.

220px-SealBeachSalon100 seconds later nine people were dead and Dominic lost both parents.

Dominic is only one of millions of children around the word who the court service fails when allocating their resources in regard to the child’s best interests. In this case, both before the incident as well as in the process that followed.

My experience of British Family law is that the child’s best interests are never the determining factor in any judgement. British family law appears to me primarily a racket that exists to serve and benefit a small minority employed in Family law to maximise personal gain without regard for ‘The child’s best interests.’ I expect it is the same in Orange County and while I have no sympathy for Scott Dekraai or the ridiculous legal system here which finds him still not tried and sentenced 4 years later, I find it hard to imagine that Dominic’s best interests were put to the fore in the legal wranglings that so embittered  Scott Dekraai 4 years ago Monday.

Lucky for Dominic, his older sister Chelsea Huff  was able to take care of him and reports that he is doing well. Scott Dekraai was arrested 3 blocks away from the Salon Meritage (In his white pick up with 3 guns and a bullet proof vest) and immediately declared his guilt. He  is still in Orange County Jail but in another example of how the Legal System can fail so spectacularly,  DA Tony Rackouckas has presided over a failure to bring a successful prosecution 4 years later.
